Sample Language for a Bequest to the Community Foundation of Cleveland and Bradley County

To create an Opportunity (Unrestricted) Fund:

I bequeath to the Community Foundation of Cleveland and Bradley County (“the Foundation”) the sum of $ ­­­___________ (or the property described herein or a certain percentage of the remainder of my estate) for the purpose of establishing an Opportunity Fund, which shall be named the     _________Fund (the “Fund”).  The Fund shall be administered by the Community Foundation in perpetuity for charitable purposes of benefit to the region served by the Foundation.

 

To Create a Field-of-Interest Fund:

I bequeath to the Community Foundation of Cleveland and Bradley County (“the Foundation”) the sum of $ ­­­___________ (or the property described herein or a certain percentage of the remainder of my estate) for the purpose of establishing a Field of Interest Fund, which shall be named the _________Fund (the “Fund”).  The Fund shall be administered by the Community Foundation in perpetuity for charitable purposes of _________.

 

To Create a Donor Advised Fund:

I bequeath to the Community Foundation of Cleveland and Bradley County (“the Foundation”) the sum of $ ­­­___________ (or the property described herein or a certain percentage of the remainder of my estate) for the purpose of establishing an Opportunity Fund, which shall be named the     _________Fund (the “Fund”).  The Advisor(s) to this Fund shall be _______. The Fund shall be administered by the Foundation in perpetuity for charitable purposes in accordance with the Foundation’s policies regarding Donor Advised Funds.

 

To Create a Designated Fund:

I bequeath to the Community Foundation of Cleveland and Bradley County (“the Foundation”) the sum of $ ­­­___________ (or the property described herein or a certain percentage of the remainder of my estate) for the purpose of establishing a Designated Fund, which shall be named the     _________Fund (the “Fund”).  The Fund shall be administered by the Foundation in perpetuity for the benefit of _________and ________ (the “Charitable Designees”).  In the event of the dissolution of any of the Charitable Designees, the Foundation shall thereafter use the assets of the fund to benefit the remaining Charitable Designees or in the event of the dissolution of all Charitable Designees, the Foundation shall continue to manage the Fund and make distributions to such organizations as, in the opinion of the Foundation’s Board of Directors, most nearly meet the purposes and objectives of the Charitable Designees.
