Pack up your chairs, blankets and picnic baskets. And get ready to watch a movie under the stars! The Community Foundation’s Emerging Leaders Council is planning four movie nights this summer. “We encourage you to gather your family and spend quality time together while watching a family-friendly box office hit on a giant movie screen, said Christina Kinzer, Chair of the Emerging Leaders Council.

The movie nights will take place on June 2, 9, 16, and 23 at Greenway Park. This event is FREE to the public. The movie will start at about 9 p.m. Concessions will also be available for purchase on site beginning at 7 p.m. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent.

June 2nd – The Secret Life of Pets
You are invited to bring your dog* along to the movie! Dress your furry friend up in a festive outfit for a chance to win our pet costume contest! You are also encouraged to please bring pet food or supplies for the Cleveland Animal Shelter or to make a donation to the shelter at the event.

*Pets must be leashed and under control of their owner at all times.

Help Cleveland Win a New Dog Park!
The City is applying for the Tennessee Dog Park Dash Grant contest through the Boyd Foundation. Thirty-six community across the state could receive $25,000 in funding towards a dog park. A grand prize of $100,000 will be awarded to one community that demonstrates it is the most pet-friendly community in Tennessee. We believe the “City with Spirit” could potentially receive the $100,000 in funding for a new proposed dog park near Blythe-Bower Elementary School. Share pictures and/or videos of you and your pet at the June 2nd Movie in the Park and all around Cleveland with the hashtag #dogparkdash and tag the City of Cleveland, TN – Government.

June 9th – Peter Rabbit
In addition to the movie showing, children’s literacy activities will be available on June 9th, including Imagination Library sign-ups and book exchange! Bring a children’s book with you to the movie and trade it for another!

June 16th – Home Alone
Show up to June 16th’s Movie in the Park with your ugliest, tackiest sweater/t-shirt for a chance to win our contest!

June 23rd – Spider-man: Homecoming
On June 23rd, we will be showing Spider-man: Homecoming, and there will be a children’s superhero costume contest! Three Superheroes will be available for photos, and the Cleveland Police Department will have their Mobile Command Unit on-site for tours!
