Civitan of Cleveland, TN Charitable Fund
The Civitan of Cleveland, TN Charitable Fund was established to support the Club’s community projects. The first project the group will take on is to raise funds for the final phase of their Inclusive Playground expansion.
The Cleveland Civitan Club, Inc. Inclusive Playground is the only fully inclusive, public playground in the Bradley/Cleveland area, enhancing the life of all users and especially those with special needs. Phase II of the playground project includes a new restroom facility, two pavilions or shelters (one 24’ x 24’ and one 24’ x 44’) with ADA compliant connecting sidewalks. The new restrooms, small shelter and most of the connecting sidewalks are complete. The larger pavilion and a sidewalk to connect it to the rest of the facilities remain for funding and completion.
The Inclusive Playground offers a play space for children in the entire community, including the students of Stuart Elementary school which is located next to the park. This larger pavilion will provide a sheltered area for play, education or instruction, and family or group gatherings or picnics.
Cleveland Civitan, Inc. is a service organization with the sole mission of giving a better quality of life for the intellectually and developmentally challenged members of the Cleveland/Bradley area and surrounding counties of Southeast Tennessee. Civitan is the sponsor of the Bradley County Special Olympics every spring and gives financial support to the classrooms of those with special needs. The Club also supports a local scholarship at Cleveland State Community College for any person with an intellectual or developmental challenge.
Donations are made by simply writing a check to the Foundation designated to the Fund or online.
